Wishful Thinking

Going through a bit of a dry-spell in the studio. Decided
more fun, and less worry about commerce was in order. "Catbird" is a pleasant daydream about what fun a cat might have if she could fly. I envision some sleeping cat, waking one sunny morning under the camellia bush, discovering she has wings!!! She explodes out of the bush, leaps into the air, wildly attacks the flapping appendages in a swirl of striped fur, dust and feathers! Wowooooooooooowoowwwwwww! One bite and she knows those feathers are hers! Bulging eyes, wings wildly flapping, legs flailing, tail in a whirl...wheew! Flat out under the camellia again. Dust settles. Birds begin to chirp again. A fat starling lands before the camellia. Catbird is transfixed, tail lashing, breath held...bursts out of the bush, Starling leaps into the air, Catbird leaps after him, Oh My! Terrified, Starling darts to the left. Catbird, being similar to a water-balloon with wings, tries to dart to the left, and winds up flying in a circle, her fat, soft body towing her madly flapping wings. Now imagine a whole tree full of Starlings laughing!

Moral: getting everything you wish for isn't always a good thing.
